{family fun}

Yesterday I had a wonderful time getting to know the Harrell family. Surprisingly, with the non-stop storms we’d been having all day, the clouds broke up just long enough to cast a beautiful light, and I was able to capture some moments of  this amazing family. I had a lot of fun shooting several generations, and we made sure to take advantage of it being Father’s Day. Thanks for making it a great first family shoot! Here are a few photos from the day.

This evening I photographed Caleb, who is now 6 months old. He is my adorable little nephew and also the first newborn I’ve ever photographed! (see very first blog). Capturing him now at 6 months makes me realize how fast the time goes and how these little ones are no longer, well, little! Soon enough he’ll be walkin’ and talkin’! I’m so excited to see what his personality becomes over the years. One thing is for sure… he better get used to having a camera around! Here’s a sneak peek from today’s shoot.

Today I had the pleasure of photographing one of my favorite subjects ~ babies! Happy 3 months to baby Hayden who is quite the cutie with adorable hair! I always enjoy how the faces of little ones can go from curiosity to pure joy in an instant, so you never know what you’re going to capture – you just know that no matter what, it’s always going to be precious- it’s a baby! This little guy had so many great expressions, I had too much fun capturing them all. Here’s a peek at some moments from today.

{red barn beauty}

Last Saturday, I photographed Joyce and Jeff’s wedding in a unique location — Bennington’s Big Red Barn. It is literally that, a huge red barn that has been converted into a beautiful wedding hall. The characteristics of it really seemed to fit the personalities of Joyce and Jeff. They both looked truly amazing, so I just wanted to post a few sneak peek photos from the day! Congratulations J & J! I had a wonderful time.

I absolutely love photographing newborns, and today I had the pleasure of getting to know Alicia, Jason, and their oh-so-sweet little girl, Ella. She did an amazing job being just a month old as she stayed awake almost the whole time and barely fussed at all. I had a great time with this adorable family and hope I captured this new time in their life just right so they can look back on it for years to come!

I had a wonderful time getting to know Joyce and Jeff who are getting married in less than 2 months! It was again another chilly day for engagement photos, but this couple kept close to each other and produced some beautiful photographs full of warmth & love.

{growing up so fast!}

It was such a pleasure photographing Christy, Mike and their 3 precious boys today. All I can say is that I wish I had as much energy as they do! They are an adorable family, all with the most amazing eyes, so of course that was a big focus of mine. Little CJ had not had any photos taken since he was born, so, being 7 months old now, I hope I captured his bubbly little personality just right. Thank you Christy and Mike for inviting me to your beautiful home!

{capturing the love}

I photographed Mike and Mandy’s engagement session down by the pedestrian bridge in Omaha. It was a perfect day with overcast skies, and we lucked out with having no snow. Even though our fingers were a little frozen, I had so much fun with this beautiful couple! I enjoyed capturing both their serious and fun sides,  all of which showed their true love for one another. I am excited to be a part of their big day coming up in July!

Gina & Mike had their first baby at the start of the New Year in 2010. A month or so before the due date, Gina wanted a few moments captured, and since they did not know the sex of the baby, I decided to get a little creative. Their dog Cloe even wanted in on all the excitement! They are such an adorable family, and I can’t wait to meet the newest member,  Lucille Elizabeth.
